Zoom!® Teeth Whitening
A beautiful smile is comprised of many elements, including brilliantly white teeth. If your teeth are discolored, or have lost their original luster over time, we can give you a brighter smile through a simple teeth whitening procedure. At our Gainesville office we offer BriteSmile® teeth whitening. The Zoom!® teeth whitening treatment produces outstanding results in a single, one-hour office visit, and is clinically proven to safely and effectively lighten teeth up to 14 shades!
To begin the Zoom!® teeth whitening procedure, you will sit back in the treatment chair and relax as we carefully place the whitening gel on your teeth. Then a light, exclusive to the Zoom!® system, is used to activate the whitening power of the gel. This blue-light technology allows us to use gel with a lower concentration of whitening ingredient, resulting in a lower risk of tooth sensitivity than with other teeth whitening procedures. After the teeth have been exposed to the blue light for 20 minutes, the whitening gel is removed, and the process is repeated two more times to achieve optimal results.

All-Porcelain Crowns
For teeth with serious cosmetic or structural problems, such as chips, deep stains that don’t respond well to teeth whitening, or extensive decay, we can use porcelain crowns to restore beauty and function. A crown fits over the entire tooth like a cap, covering imperfections. Porcelain crowns not only make damaged and stained teeth look better, they also add strength to teeth with structural problems. Crowns are an excellent choice when the tooth still has strong, healthy roots. At our practice in Leesburg, we use all-porcelain crowns, which look so much like natural teeth that it is difficult to distinguish them from surrounding teeth.
To place a crown, we begin by removing decayed or damaged tooth structure to make room for the porcelain restoration. Once the tooth has been prepared, we make an impression of the area and send it to our dental laboratory so the porcelain crown can be custom crafted to complement your surrounding natural teeth. You will be fitted with a temporary crown to wear over your prepared tooth until your permanent crown is ready. Then, you will return to our practice to have the permanent crown cemented in place. Inlays and Onlays
When a tooth has suffered structural damage, but not so much that a porcelain crown is needed, we may be able to restore them with an inlay or onlay. Inlays are used to repair decay or damage that lies within the cusps (points) of a tooth, and onlays are used to repair damage or decay that affects one or more of the cusps. The process for placing inlays and onlays is similar to that involved in placing porcelain crowns. The tooth is prepared and an impression is made so that the inlay or onlay can be fabricated.
Dental Bonding
Through dental bonding, we can conceal minor imperfections, such as cracks, chips, and discolorations. We apply a tooth-colored resin material to the tooth and sculpt it into the desired shape. The material is hardened upon exposure to a special light, and then smoothed and polished to a natural-looking sheen. We can even fill small gaps and fix minor misalignments by increasing the size of the tooth with the bonding material. Dental bonding is a popular alternative to porcelain veneers, because it can quickly and easily improve the appearance of the teeth for amazing results.
